The Queen Katharine Academy Beauty and Massage department prepares students for a career in industry. The department is managed by a fully qualified professional therapists with over 10 years’ experience.  We use professional products, tools and equipment to ensure that our students are trained to the highest standards.

Accredited by the Vocational Training Charitable Trust (VTCT) our courses are monitored and regularly assessed to ensure that we meet their high standards of excellence.

On successful completion of the course, our students are qualified therapists, and can look forward to careers on cruise ships, spas and salons as well as being self-employed.

These course are available to students studying in sixth form.

 

Level 2 Diploma in Beauty Therapy Studies

This course will prepare the students for the role as a beauty therapist. Ideally, they should then complete the level 3 course to increase their chances of employability however; it can be studied as a single qualification. Competency is assessed through practical observation on external clients and exams. Students will produce a portfolio of evidence.

Client Care and communication in beauty related industries

Follow health & safety practice in the salon

Provide eyelash & eyebrow treatments

Provide facial skincare

Provide manicure treatments

Remove hair using waxing techniques

Provide pedicure treatments

Apply make up

Provide nail art

 

Level 3 Diploma in Massage Therapy

This course will prepare the students for the role as a massage therapist.  Ideally, this should follow the successful completion of the level 2 course to increase their chances of employability however; it can be studied as a single qualification. Competency is assessed through practical observation on external clients and exams. Students will produce a portfolio of evidence.
