This January, eight of our Year 9 students visited Homerton College, part of the University of Cambridge, for the Insight Discover programme.
Throughout the day, our students gained a real insight into university life. In the morning, they learnt about student unions and the different types of societies. Then they had a go at designing their own campaign or society, before pitching their ideas to the rest of the group. In the afternoon, our students really enjoyed trying out some university sports including badminton, table tennis, and fives.
During the trip, our students also received feedback on their final PhD assignment and they were given advice about the different universities and courses that matched their interests. Overall, our students had a very informative trip and were a credit to the academy!
