QKA’s Sixth Formers celebrate A-Level successes

Post-16 students at Queen Katharine Academy, part of Thomas Deacon Education Trust (TDET), are celebrating a fantastic set of A-Level and vocational exam successes today.

Many students achieved outstanding results, with some impressive individual performances:

Joanna, who achieved A*(Sociology), Distinction* (Psychology), A (Polish) and Distinction (Performing Arts).
Joanna is going to study Psychological and Behavioural Science at Durham University.

Kamila, who achieved Distinction* (Business Studies), Distinction (Travel and Tourism), A (Russian).
Kamila is going to study International Business at the University of Birmingham.

Vaniza, who achieved A* A* A* (Health and Social Care).
Vaniza is going to study Nursing (Adult and Mental Health) at Birmingham City University.

Leo, who achieved A (English Literature), Distinction (Performing Arts) and B (Fine Art).
Leo is going to study Fine Art at Norwich University of the Arts.

Faith (Head Student), who achieved A (Health and Social Care), Distinction (Sports Studies) and B (Biology).
Faith is going to study Physiotherapy at the University of Leicester.

Damon Lewis, Head of Sixth Form, said: “We are delighted for all our Sixth Form students who are celebrating a fantastic set of results today, and are incredibly proud of their dedication and commitment to their studies throughout the last two years.

We pride ourselves on creating a culture of high aspirations so all our students can reach their full potential, and this year we celebrate our 1000th student becoming the first in their family to be offered a place at university which shows the breadth of this impact.

We would like to thank everyone who has supported and encouraged our students on their Sixth Form journey.

Many of our students demonstrate exceptional progress from a variety of starting points in Year 12 and we are so pleased to celebrate many remarkable successes as well as impressive individual performances. We are so proud of our 2023 cohort, congratulations to you all and we wish you the very best of luck for an exciting future.

Our Sixth Form is already oversubscribed for next year, we received over 500 applications, and we are looking forward to welcoming new students in September.”
