Darkwood Manor

Your task is to write a story or script telling the story of someone who is going to visit Darkwood Manor and stay the night. You are going to tell us everything that they see and experience.

Remember to include:

  • Their experiences of Mrs Brown
  • Why they want to stay the night
  • What they see when they are there
  • What the house is like inside
  • Whether they end up staying the night or not

Also remember that a story needs a beginning, middle and end. What is it that will make the climax of your story?

Year 8

Harry Potter and the Philosopher’s Stone

Choose at least 1 of the following scenes and create a script:

You do not have to have the original characters of Harry, Ron and Hermione but you can create your own wizard characters.

Choose between:

  1. Receiving your Hogwarts letter and showing the reactions of the different characters
  2. Getting to Platform 9 and 3/4s and boarding the train
  3. Being sorted into houses and hearing the songs from the sorting hat
  4. Tasks to retrieve the Philosopher’s Stone

Our Day Out - Writing and rehearsing a monologue

For one of the following characters:

Briggs

Headteacher

Write, learn and rehearse ready to perform a monologue.

Consider: Content (think about the characters motivation and background), vocal delivery, use of space and levels, movement.

You are encouraged to set up a group chat with your performance group so that you can discuss your ideas and plans for your performance piece.

You should use the milestone guidance sheet to ensure that you think about including a range of different drama techniques and consider the work of practitioners within your piece.

Year 12

Developing Skills and Techniques for Live Performance

You are encouraged to set up a group chat with your performance group so that you can discuss your ideas and plans for your performance piece.

You should research ideas for your character, keep diary entries of any conversations had with your group and either script or create a plan of your performance.

Group Performance Workshop

You are encouraged to set up a group chat with your performance group so that you can discuss your ideas and plans for your performance piece.

You should use the milestone guidance sheet to ensure that you think about including a range of different drama techniques and consider the work of practitioners within your piece.

You could begin to script your work or create a very detailed plan of each scene.
