16-19 Funding Statement
The 16–19 Study Programme
What is the 16–19 Study Programme?
All ESFA-funded education for students aged 16–19 must be delivered as a study programme. This combines academic or technical qualifications with additional activities, tailored to each student’s prior attainment and future aspirations. Every programme must have a core aim— for most students, this will be the study of substantial academic, applied, or technical qualifications (at levels 2 or 3), alongside preparation for employment or progression to higher education.
How do we meet these requirements at Queen Katharine Academy Sixth Form?
Queen Katharine Academy Sixth Form offers a range of Level 2 and Level 3 programmes, primarily focused on academic qualifications, with some applied courses available. Many students choose facilitating subjects to keep their future options open and we ensure every student follows a structured, challenging programme that provides breadth and depth, supports personal development, and prepares them for university, apprenticeships, or employment.
